HoopDirt.com can confirm through a great source that DIII SUNY Maritime will name Mike Berkun as their new head basketball coach. He will replace Frank McQuail who spent the 2016-17 season as the interim head coach for the Privateers.

Berkun has spent the past three seasons on the staff at DII Daemen College (NY), serving the last two as the associate head coach. He played collegiately at DIII Medaille College (NY) where he also spent four seasons as an assistant.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
