Heading into the 2023-2024 season, Carlos Dixon has been promoted to Associate Head Men’s Basketball Coach at Caldwell Community College (Hudson, NC). Coach Dixon has been at Caldwell since 2019. During his time, the Cobras have won two Region 10 regular season championships, played for three Region 10 conference tournament championships and won the tournament championship in 2022. Coach Dixon has recruited, developed and coached seven All-Region players and one All-American. In three out of his four years, the Cobras have been ranked in the NJCAA D1 top 25 poll. During this time, Coach Dixon has also mentored, lead and guided 24 college graduates.
A Salisbury, NC native who was inducted into the Rowan County Sports Hall of Fame in 2018, he played collegiately at Virginia Tech from 2000-2005. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Coach Dixon started a 11-year professional basketball career with stops in China, France, South Korea, Argentina, Japan, Bahrain and Dominican Republic. He started his coaching career at Queens University (Charlotte, NC) from 2016-2018. While at Queens University the Royals were 62-8 while winning the 2017-2018 SAC conference championship. After his stint at Queens University, Carlos joined the Appalachian State University (Boone, NC) Men’s Basketball Staff as the Director of Basketball Operations.
