The University of Valley Forge Athletic Department has announced the hiring of DJ Damazo as the new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.

Coach Damazo has earned his Master’s Degree in organizational leadership from Eastern University.  He received his bachelor’s degree from Geneva College in Human Services where he was a 2 year starter on the Men’s Basketball team.

Coach Damazo brings a wealth of knowledge to the program.  For the last two years, DJ has been an Assistant Basketball Coach at Eastern University while also serving as the Head JV Coach.  Before moving to St. Davids, PA, Coach Damazo was an Assistant Basketball Coach at his alma mater, Blackhawk High School in Beaver Falls, PA.

Coach Damazo said “I am honored and blessed to serve as the Head Men’s Basketball coach at the University of Valley Forge. The University of Valley Forge is an incredible place with a genuine Christian atmosphere, strong academics, and a thriving athletic department. First, I want to thank God for His provision and for giving me this opportunity. Second, I want to thank my wife, Kristland, for her patience, love, and sacrifices during this process. Next, I want to thank David Kim and Gretchen LeVan for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. Finally, I want to thank all of my family, coaches, and mentors that have helped me along the way.”

When asked what he hopes to accomplish during his time at UVF, Coach Damazo said “My goal is to develop the total student-athlete – as a person, student, and as a player. We are going to work to help young men grow in their faith and equip them with the tools to be leaders in their future jobs, marriages, church and community. We will graduate men with Christian character who are prepared to fulfill their professional goals. I am excited to make an impact in the lives of our players as we seek to take the program to the next level.”
