A few quick items….

It sounds like Jerry Hobbie is the front runner for the open assistant spot at SMU. He spent the past three seasons at Houston. Former St. John’s assistant Fred Quartlebaum is also in the mix, but it sounds like it will go to Hobbie. Expect the official announcement after 8/1.

DII Newberry College will hire Shawn McCullion as an assistant. He is a long time assistant at Emerson College. Apparently he will also serve as the head cross country coach at the school.

I’ve also heard that former Iowa head coach Todd Lickliter is involved with the Vincennes University job. VU won 22 games last year, and is one of the top JC’s in the country. It would be an interesting move for Lickliter.
