Dollar added to Indian Hills Basketball staff

The Indian Hills Men’s Basketball team has announced the hiring of Darian Dollar as the program’s newest assistant coach.

“Darian is a young coach with a bright future,” stated head coach Hank Plona. “Darian has been a part of high-level programs his whole life, and has a passion for helping young players succeed. We are excited about him joining our staff here at Indian Hills.”

Dollar comes to the Warriors after serving as a graduate assistant for head coach Leonard Hamilton at Florida State University. Dollar developed individual player skills through personal workouts as well as on-court drills and team practices. Dollar also served an integral role in the program’s video analysis department and oversaw components of Florida State’s youth team and individual camps.

“I am excited to be working with Coach Plona and the men’s basketball team here at Indian Hills,” stated Dollar. “The athletic program has an excellent reputation and I look forward to getting to know the student-athletes and immersing myself in everything that goes into making up a championship team.”

Prior to Florida State, Dollar served as the team’s head manager for the University of South Florida Men’s Basketball program in Tampa, FL. Dollar was instrumental in areas surrounding scouting, video analysis, and youth camps. Dollar served as a volunteer head manager for two seasons before being promoted to the program’s head manager.

Dollar comes from a long line of basketball coaches as his father, Chad is currently an assistant coach at the University of Cincinnati. Dollar’s grandfather, Donald Dollar, helped lead the AAU Basketball movement and won more than 600 games and three state titles at the high school level in Georgia. Dollar’s uncle, Cameron Dollar, won a national championship while playing for UCLA in 1995.

Dollar received his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences at South Florida and is currently working towards the completion of his Master’s Degree in International and Multicultural Education at Florida State.
