Player Development Coach and NBA Trainer Maurice Riddick introduces a great drill for keeping downhill momentum off of a ball screen and into your jump shot.
Flat Screen Downhill Shooting
- Catch dish pass at the top of the key
- Use a cone, teammate, or your imagination to simulate a flat screen
- Come off screen and push the ball downhill into your midrange jumper
“First thing you want to do is make sure you have a strong base,” says Riddick. “Keep your head up and have great vision to understand where the flat screen is coming.”
