In this drill of the week from Coach Tony Miller, he breaks down a great team drill to encourage team competition using Dr. Dish shooting machines. Check out the full breakdown below!
37-Point shooting
A while back, I shared our 47-point shooting drill. A similar drill is the 37-point shooting drill. This is another one that’s great for motivating individual players to compete against themselves in a workout or against others in a small group workout. Frame 1: The player takes 1 catch-and-shoot three from each of the 5 spots (each made basket is worth 3 points). Frame 2: At each of the 5 spots, the player catches a pass from the Dish, shot fakes, rip throughs to their left, then shoots a mid-range jumper off a 1 dribble pull-up (each made basket is worth 2 points). Frame 3: At each of the 5 spots, the player catches a pass from the Dish, shot fakes, rip throughs to their right, then shoots a mid-range jumper off a 1 dribble pull-up (each made basket is worth 2 points). Frame 4: The player shoots two free throws to finish (each made basket is worth 1 point). There are a possible 37 points.
