Dr. Dish Drill of the Week

Coach Tony Miller demonstrates a simple warmup for players to add to their routine. See it in action below! 


During individual workouts, I like to add some variation into basic drills as part of player’s warmups. Incorporating a little ballhandling allows us to work on multiple skills while maximizing our time. Instead of the normal 5 spot shooting at the short corners, wings, and nail, we’ll take three shots at each spot with some sort of change-of-hand dribbling move on each pass out.

 Three Shot Spot Shooting with Ballhandling

  • First pass: right to left, left to right, then shot
  • Second pass: straight cross right to left, left to right, then shot
  • Third pass: left to right, right to left, then shot
