Eastern Illinois has named Jay Spoonhour as its new head coach.

Spoonhour is the 14th head coach in the program’s history and replaces Mike Miller, whose contract was not renewed after a 12-17 season.

Spoonhour has more than ten years of experience as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level including stops at Saint Louis, Valparaiso, UNLV, Missouri and Texas San Antonio.
