Centre College Athletics has announced the addition of Emmanuel Tommy to the Colonials men’s basketball coaching staff.

Tommy spent the previous seven years at Godwin Heights High School in Wyoming, Mich., where he served as an assistant coach. During those seven years. Godwin Heights posted a record of 158-12, including seven conference championships, five district championships, four regional championships and a Michigan Class B State Championship in 2015.

In addition, Tommy spent three years working as a graduate assistant with the basketball program at Western Michigan University.

“My family and I are excited to be a part of the Centre community,” Tommy said. “The staff and entire department have been very kind to my family and I, and have already made us feel at home. I’m very fortunate to work with a coach that has the knowledge and longevity that Coach (Greg) Mason possesses. His teams have had a ton of success in his long tenure at Centre, and I look forward to learning as much as I can from him and the rest of our staff.”

Head Coach Greg Mason added: “We are excited to announce the addition of Emmanuel Tommy to our coaching staff. During the interview process, we were very impressed with his energy level and his ability to connect with others. Emmanuel is a people person and his positive impact is already being felt in our program. We’re very excited Emmanuel and his family are now a part of our Centre basketball family.”

The Centre men’s basketball team will begin its season on Nov. 13 at Covenant.
