Emory & Henry College Head Men’s Basketball Coach David Willson has announced the addition of Franklin Featherston to the team’s coaching staff. Featherston comes to Southwest Virginia by way of Arkansas where he spent time as an assistant coach for Ecclesia College and Ouachita Baptist University.
"Coach Featherston came highly recommended as a dependable, hard-working, loyal and intelligent coach." said Coach Willson. "He is eager to contribute to the growth of our basketball program and I am confident that he will do a great job."
Coach Featherston was hired at Ecclesia after graduating from Ouachita Baptist University in 2013. While at Ecclesia, he was responsible for recruiting, scouting, scheduling, travel, and fundraising while also working part-time in the school’s financial aid office.
While at Ouachita Baptist, a member of NCAA Division II, Coach Featherston served as a student assistant and contributed to the program’s 2013 Great American Conference Championship. The program went from winning nine games during his first season to earning 17 victories in 2012-13. He graduated with a degree in kinesiology and with a minor in nutrition science.
