FEATURED JOB: Assistant Coach/ Head Development Coach – Converse University

Description:The Converse Men’s basketball staff is looking to add someone eager and passionate about coaching to their staff for the 2024-2025 season. This unique opportunity provides head coaching opportunities with the developmental team, in addition to serving as an assistant with the varsity team. The candidate will be responsible for recruiting for both the varsity and devo teams, planning and participating in practices for both teams, game planning for both teams, overseeing operations of both teams, overseeing the teams social media accounts, overseeing the community service engagements for both teams, and ensuring academic oversight for both teams.

Recruiting 
Managing recruiting database
Primary recruiter for the developmental team
Correspondence with prospective student-athletes
Liaison between admissions, financial aid and our staff to ensure SA’s are applying and submitting transcripts, test scores, and FASFA information
Correspond with all recruiting questionnaires we receive
Meeting with recruits and families when needed
Talent evaluation of prospective student-athletes
Managing social media presence, Twitter & Instagram

Technical Instruction 
Attend all practices and competition
Breakdown of film on Synergy and HUDL Maintaining statistics when needed during and post competition/practice
Preparation and editing of film and scouting reports Assisting with the creation of season and individual plans.

Will supervise all Development team workouts, practices, weights, and in game coaching

Program Administration 
Attending and participating in staff meetings (compliance, practice planning, academic, strength & conditioning, individuals)
Assisting with travel arrangements for competition, varsity and developmental
Managing players’ equipment needs Meet Management Duties: prep, set-up, tear down, and entries
Manage the development team budget and Handel all check request, and credit card reconciliations Other administrative duties as assigned.

Camps and Aquatic Events 
Assist with camps, elite camps, and coaching clinics Run Summer League and other programs developed by Converse staff

Fundraising 


Organize and participate in fundraising activities as assigned.

Minimum qualifications: 
Bachelor’s degree
Ability to work nights and weekends Strong time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
American Red Cross of ASHI CPR Certification: Preferred; can be acquired between hiring and start date
Knowledge of Synergy, HUDL, SportsCode, & PhotoShop (preferred)
