Job Description:

Central State University Men’s Basketball is looking for a driven and committed Volunteer Assistant Coach to join our program. This role is perfect for someone with prior experience as a College Manager or Graduate Assistant, who is ready to grow in the coaching profession.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Player Development: Assist in individual skill workouts, practices, and player growth initiatives.
  • Video & Scouting: Break down film and scout opponents using Sportscode and Synergysoftware.
  • Recruiting: Participate in on-the-road recruiting, attend events, and help identify and evaluate prospects.
  • Academic Oversight: Monitor and support student-athlete academic performance.
  • Social Media & Graphics: Help manage the program’s digital presence, including creating engaging content and graphics for social media platforms to assist with branding and recruiting.
  • Assist in daily program operations, game preparation, and practice planning.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience as a Manager or Graduate Assistant at the college level
  • Familiarity with SportscodeSynergy, and basic graphic design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Canva)
  • Understanding of social media platforms and strategies (Instagram, Twitter/X, etc.)
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • A team-first mindset and passion for helping student-athletes grow on and off the court
