Fedor Named Assistant Basketball Coach at Robert Morris

Robert Morris University head men’s basketball coach Andrew Toole announced Thursday that Dave Fedor has been named an assistant coach with the Colonials.

“We’re excited to have Dave join our staff at Robert Morris,” Toole said. “What stood out with Dave is he is a bright, energetic coach who is going to be a valuable asset to our program. He’s an extremely hardworking coach, and he’ll mentor and push our student-athletes each and every day.”

Fedor, a native of Hamilton, N.J., joins the RMU staff after spending the last four years with the Hoop Group in Neptune, N.J. He served as the Assistant Director of Team Tournaments in 2014-15 before being promoted to Director of Team Tournaments, a role he held for the last three years.

While with the Hoop Group, Fedor was the event coordinator for eight premier grassroots AAU team tournaments, which featured over 2,500 teams from 30 different states. He also served as the event coordinator for six premier high school showcases, which featured elite teams from Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

Fedor also spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach at Georgian Court University. While an assistant with the Lions in Lakewood, N.J., Fedor served as the program’s recruiting coordinator, was responsible for opponent scouting and player development and was the director of GCU camps and clinics.

A 2012 graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in sports management, Fedor got his start in the coaching profession by serving as a graduate assistant with the Scarlet Knights from 2012-14. In that role he managed and maintained a recruiting database and schedule for all coaches, monitored academic progress and coordinated community service projects for the program.

Fedor was also in charge of hiring and training student managers while a graduate assistant at Rutgers and also served as the director of summer and team camps for the Scarlet Knights. While serving as a graduate assistant, Fedor earned a Master of Labor and Employment Relations degree in 2014.

Robert Morris begins prep for the 2018-19 season with a foreign trip for the first time in program history, as the Colonials will visit Ireland for 10 days this month. RMU will play three games during its international tour, beginning with a 3:00 p.m. tip against Neptune at Neptune Stadium in Cork, Ireland.

In eight seasons under Toole, Robert Morris has compiled an overall record of 150-123 (.549), including a mark of 91-51 (.641) against Northeast Conference opponents. Toole has guided the Colonials to a pair of NEC regular-season crowns (2013, 2014) as well as the 2015 NEC Tournament championship.
