The search at Florida Gulf Coast has begun to get closer to a hire. AD Ken Kavanagh has narrowed the field to 8 or 9 contenders. There has been a lot of interest in this job. It will reportedly pay around $150,000 per season. Some of the guys still involved (we believe) are Florida assistant Richard Pitino, Miami associate head coach Jorge Fernandez, Alabama associate head coach Dan Hipsher, Former Vanderbilt head coach (and Naples, FL resident) Jan Van Breda Kolff, and Belmont assistant Casey Alexander. I would expect this one to wrap-up sometime next week before the Final Four.
