Valley City State University men’s basketball has announced Trevor Flemmer has been promoted to Associate Head Coach of Men’s Basketball.
Flemmer joined VCSU as the assistant coach in the 2024-25 season with nine years of coaching experience. In his first season, Flemmer helped coach the Vikings to a 6-0 start, their best start in over 20 years. The Vikings went on to have three All-Conference athletes Tyrel Creger, Lamar Grayson, and Shaheed Muhammad.
Head Coach Ryan Montgomery stated, “A great staff is the backbone of any successful basketball program. Since joining us, Trevor has consistently demonstrated why he was previously entrusted with head coaching responsibilities at the collegiate level. As a head coach, it’s crucial to have people who can manage their roles with expertise, allowing you to focus on the bigger picture without being bogged down by avoidable issues. Trevor excels in this regard. His value to our program is immense, and alongside Jacob Toepfer, I’m genuinely excited about what this staff is capable of achieving.”
Flemmer has prior experience as head coach at Bethany College and Presentation College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in exercise science with minors in coaching, sports wellness, and business management.
