Fointno Named Assistant Coach at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods

Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College men’s basketball coach Mike Hunter has added Chandler Fointno as an assistant coach.
Fointno is a native of Dayton, Ohio, playing at Huber Heights Wayne High School. Fointno went on to play at Lakeland Community College, averaging 9.8 points and 3.4 assists as a sophomore to earn all-conference honors. Fointno was a two-year starter before moving on to Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Fla.
“Chandler is a young bright light in the coaching business!” Hunter said. “I have watched him mature from time where I recruited him in high school, to now where he is helping young men to reach their goals on the basketball court and in the classroom. Chandler comes from a basketball family and brings ties to Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. His on-court development skills will benefit our entire program but especially our guards.”
Fointno is eager to get started.
“I’m excited and grateful to start my coaching career at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College under coach Hunter,” Fointno said. “I love what coach Hunter has done in the past and we have built a relationship ever since hwas recruiting me out of high school. I’m just ready to get there with the guys and get to work.”
