Fresno State staff update

Fresno State head men’s basketball coach Rodney Terry has completed his coaching staff for the 2012-13 season with the addition of former Texas standout Kenton Paulino as one of the Bulldogs’ assistant coaches and the promotion of Michael Schwartz to top assistant coach and Byron Jones to the No. 2 assistant coach position. Paulino helped fuel the Longhorns to NCAA Tournament appearances in each of his four seasons as a player, including a trip to the 2003 Final Four and the 2006 Elite Eight. Following his senior campaign, Paulino spent two years playing professionally, one in Turkey and a second with the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

He then worked on Rick Barnes’ staff at Texas with Terry as a special assistant for three seasons from 2008-11 before spending the 2011-12 season at Lamar University under head coach Pat Knight.

Last season, Schwartz and Jones were previously the No. 2 and 3 assistant coaches, respectively.

Schwartz and Jones were both instrumental in helping Terry build the foundation of the Bulldogs’ program and recruit one of the West’s top recruiting classes to prepare Fresno State to compete this season in the Mountain West.
