Galgano named Assistant Director of Men’s Basketball Operations at Delaware

Former four-year manager and University of Delaware graduate, Stephen Galgano ’20, returns to his alma mater as the Assistant Director of Men’s Basketball Operations, head coach Martin Ingelsby announced Tuesday.

“We are very fortunate to welcome Stephen back to Newark,” Ingelsby said. “He is a bright, young coach who will work closely with Danny O’Connor on the day-to-day operations within our program. His experience at Bryant and Marshall the past three seasons has prepared him for this opportunity and we look forward to the value he will add to our team.”

Galgano spent the past two seasons at Marshall University as a graduate assistant within the men’s basketball program. In that role, he aided the staff in scouting operations and player development. His tenure was highlighted by a 24-8 record in 2022-23.

“It is a privilege to return to the University of Delaware as a member of the men’s basketball staff,” Galgano said. “Coach Ingelsby and his staff have played an integral part in my development from my time as a student manager and in my young coaching career. I am excited to contribute to the program’s success and support our student-athletes on and off the court.”

After graduating from UD, he landed at Bryant University where he served as the special assistant to the head coach for men’s basketball. Galgano spent one year in that capacity from August 2020 to August 2021. With the Bulldogs, he aided the program in multiple facets, including operations and video.

Galgano graduated from Marshall with his Master of Business Administration in April 2023.
