Gembe named assistant at Shippensburg

Jaren Gembe ’11 was named Monday as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Shippensburg University. He replaces Eric Rahauser, who resigned to take a position outside of basketball.

Gembe is in his second season as a coach at Shippensburg University. He joined the staff last season as a volunteer, handling a variety of responsibilities that included scouting and video preparation.

A veteran of 104 career games with the Raiders from 2007-11, Gembe scored 463 points and dished out 240 assists. He made a school-record 37 consecutive free throws during a senior season in which he ranked fourth in the PSAC in three-point shooting.

A native of Greencastle, Gembe earned his bachelor’s degree from Shippensburg in 2011 and earned his master’s degree from East Carolina in 2013.
