Cincinnati Christian University has named Greg Miller as the Eagles new Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Coach Miller is coming to CCU from Grace College, where he both played and is currently an assistant coach for the Lancers. He will complete his time at Grace this week as the team is competing in the NCCAA Division I National Championship. Last year’s squad finished third in the tournament.
While a student-athlete at his alma mater in Winona Lake, Indiana, he was a four year starter and two-time captain. Greg commented, “Relationships are what shaped me the most. I arrived at Grace College to play basketball and that was it. I happened to be a Christian, but my coaching staff, teammates, my friends, and my professors molded me into the man I am today.” Personal accolades include: NCCAA Pete Maravich Award Winner, two-time NAIA All-American, and one of seven players in school history to surpass 1,500 points and 1,000 rebounds. He finished his collegiate career with 1,873 points and 1,052 rebounds.
Following his undergraduate playing days in 2014, Greg completed his MBA while also being added to Hall of Fame Coach Jim Kessler’s staff.
Greg adds, “Today, I can say that I am a Christian who coaches basketball. I am thankful for all the people who positively impacted my life at Grace, and I hope that I can begin to positively impact people here at CCU. Spiritually, we will look to draw closer to the Lord through team Bible studies and prayer. I am more excited to see the growth that these men have in their spiritual lives more than anything else. I believe that student-athletes need to be very focused on their academics, graduating with a degree, and being prepared to go into the workforce right away. Athletically, I will push my athletes to take pride in competing every single day, whether a game or practice, to the best of their ability while representing our Lord, their teammates, and CCU.”
“I am very excited to join the CCU family and basketball program. I am looking forward to being a part of a university that wants to see their students excel in all parts of their lives. Our players will be held to a high level of excellence while in the classroom and while on the court. CCU has had many successful years of basketball and I look forward to adding many more years of success for the program, community and university.”
