Hawaii Hilo has narrowed the field to three finalists for their vacant head basketball coaching position. The finalists are:
• Guy Beach – Assistant coach Panola College. Former head coach at the College of Eastern Utah and the College of Southern Idaho. Has also been an assistant at Weber State, UTEP, and Fresno State.
• Steven Kinder – Head coach Humboldt State. Is 59-27 in three seasons at HSU. Is a HSU alum and was a long-time assistant there before taking over in 2010.
• Mark Nelson – Assistant coach Grand Canyon. Has spent the past five seasons at GCU. Former head coach at Butler County College, Cowley County College, and Wabash Valley College.
The interviews are wrapping up today, and a decision is expected by early next week.
