A bunch of things going on at the University of Hawaii. First, I have now heard from two sources that DBO Chris McMillian is in the mix to join Jared Phay’s new staff at the College of Southern Idaho as an assistant. McMillian has been at UH for the past four seasons in various administrative roles. He played collegiately at Wyoming. I have also heard that current Hawaii assistant Scott Fisher will not be returning. He has also been at UH for the past four years – two as the DBO, two as an assistant. Before coming to Hawaii, Fisher spent almost 20 years as a player and coach in Australia’s National Basketball League. Word on the street is that former Loyola Marymount assistant Senque Carey is the front runner to replace Fisher. In addition to his time at LMU, Carey has also worked at Fresno State and Portland State. Finally, head coach Gib Arnold’s contract is due to expire this summer (yes, THIS summer). It’s interesting that a new deal is not in place yet, but from what I’ve heard, it sounds like it will be done shortly. More on this as I hear it.
