We reported this as a rumor last week – just wanted to pass along the release now that it is official.
Matt Healing is the new Director of Basketball Operations for the NJIT men’s basketball team, head coach Jim Engles announced.
Healing, a 2004 graduate of Monmouth University, hails from Morris County in New Jersey.
He has served as an assistant men’s basketball coach in two NCAA Division III programs—Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, and Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ.
He entered the college coaching ranks at Centenary in April 2009 and coached there during the 2010-11 season. He had two stints at Vassar, coaching there in the 2009-10 season and returning as a full-time assistant in 2011-12, when the program tripled its wins total from the previous season.
Prior to coaching at the collegiate level, Healing spent two seasons as the assistant varsity boy’s basketball coach at Randolph High School.
