Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Men’s Basketball Coach Robbie Harman has announced the hiring of Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach, Cody Henson.
“I couldn’t be more excited to add someone like Cody to my staff. He is a proven developer of talent especially at the forwards position. He has also built connections all over the country during his time as a prep coach that will be instrumental in our recruiting” stated head basketball coach Harman.
Henson joins the Ranger’s coaching staff after spending the last two years at Elevation Prep where he was the Director/Head National High School Basketball coach at the Fort Wayne, Indiana school. Henson was in charge of player development, team travel, academics and dorm supervision. He oversaw daily operations which included the player recruitment and camp/ schedule planning and game day logistics.
While coaching Elevation Prep, the team defeated three top 25 teams in the first two seasons and he coached over twenty players who signed full ride scholarships to colleges in two seasons. Elevation Prep won the NCSAA National Championship and Big Shots Prep Hoops National Tournament during his time there.

Prior to his time at Elevation Prep, Henson was the Head Basketball Coach/Director of United Prep in Haines City, Florida. He was in charge of all phases of program development and coaching. While there he coached six players who signed full-ride scholarships including two to Division I. Henson was in charge of four teams while coaching the top team at United Prep.
Henson also coached at Lincoln Academy in Suwanee, Georgia as the assistant basketball coach. While at Suwanee he oversaw player recruitment along with full coaching and scouting duties. The team ended the season ranked in the top 30 nationally while sending 13 players in two seasons to 4-year schools including 12 players to Division I.
Henson also worked with multiple AAU/EYBL teams during his coaching tenure including national power Spiece Indy Heat and the Georgia Stars. He also coached at Fort Wayne Northrop HS as an assistant coach.
Henson graduated from the University of Northwestern Ohio with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
