Iowa State University announced a new contract for head basketball coach Fred Hoiberg today. The eight-year extension is worth an average of $1.5 million per season, nearly doubling Hoiberg’s current annual salary of $850,000. In his second year as head coach, Hoiberg led his alma mater to its first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005 and 23 total victories.
