William and Mary head men’s basketball coach Tony Shaver announced that fifth-year assistant Jonathan Holmes has been promoted to associate head coach of the Tribe program.
Prior to coming to Williamsburg, Holmes served as an assistant coach at both Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C., and Montreat College in Montreat, N.C. A graduated of the University of North Carolina, he was a four-year letterwinner for the Tar Heels, including helping the program to the NCAA Final Four in 2000. Following his career at UNC, Holmes played professionally for two seasons in Denmark and England.
