Hood College head men’s basketball coach Chad Dickman has added two new assistant coaches to his staff:
Luke Summers – Assistant Coach
A Frederick native and Urbana High School graduate, Summers arrives at Hood after serving as the Head Manager for the men’s basketball team at Bucknell University from 2016-2020. During his time at Bucknell, he helped the Bison win three Patriot League regular season titles, two Patriot League Tournament Championships, and earn two NCAA tournament berths. Summers carried out numerous administrative and basketball tasks including travel planning and coordination, scouting, and recruiting. He also ran voluntary workouts for Bucknell’s players outside of practice, helping to develop six All-Patriot League selections.
Summers graduated with an undergraduate degree in mathematical economics with a concentration in computational statistics. He approaches the game from a highly analytical perspective and combines this with a strong basketball background cultivated right here in Frederick County.
