Lebanon Valley head men’s basketball coach Brad McAlester has announced the hiring of Willie Hope as an assistant coach.
Hope comes to The Valley after two seasons as the graduate assistant coach at Messiah University. The 2018 Messiah graduate played four years for the Falcons and averaged 8.8 minutes per game in 52 career games. The guard shot .441 from the floor, scoring 63 points with 75 assists and 62 rebounds in 459 minutes.
“We are thrilled to have Willie join our staff,” McAlester said. “We look forward to having him hit the ground running with recruiting this summer and preparing for the first year in a new conference this winter. He is a young, hard-working individual who will fit well into our Dutchmen Family.”
Hope earned a degree in communications from Messiah. Before two years as a graduate assistant for the Falcons, he worked as the sports director at WYMT in Hazard, Ky.
“My wife, Lauren, and I are excited to join the Dutchmen family,” stated Hope. “I have played and coached against LVC, and I know they are a high-quality program. I’m excited to start and contribute to the program’s success.”
