Shelby Lindley is Central Wyoming College’s new men’s basketball, replacing Curtis Condie who has separated employment from CWC effective Monday, October 29.
Lindley, who was hired this fall as the assistant coach, has accepted the job to lead the Rustlers for the 2012-13 season, and fans can see the team in action at a home opener Thursday, November 1 at 6 p.m. against Impact Academy. Lindley also assumes the responsibilities as sports information director at Central.
Lindley spent the past season at Idaho State University where he was the graduate assistant/director of basketball operations. With Lindley’s help, Idaho State finished fifth in the Big Sky Conference. While at ISU, he worked for Deane Martin and Joe O’Brien. O’Brien has won three NJCAA National Championships and numerous other awards.
Before joining the staff at ISU, Lindley spent two years at Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, Idaho, and the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls where he worked under hall of fame coach Tim Hills, Brandon Rinta and Steve Gosar.
CWC is planning to hire an assistant men’s basketball coach to support Lindley. The college also intends to commence a nationwide search for the coaching position at or near the end of the basketball season.
