Marian University director of athletics Steve Downing announced today that Todd Lickliter has resigned effectively immediately as the men’s basketball coach at Marian University. Lickliter served the past three seasons at Marian University, compiling a record 49-36. His career record, which includes stints at Butler University and the University of Iowa, is 218-154.
"I want to thank Coach Lickliter for his service to Marian University and our men’s basketball program," Downing said. "He is a man of great character, and has represented us well. The entire Marian University community wishes him the best in his future endeavors."
The team’s season ended Wednesday with a 71-52 loss to the University of Saint Francis in the Crossroads League Tournament. The Knights finished the 2014-15 campaign with a 16-15 record.
According to Downing, the search to replace Lickliter will begin immediately.
