HOT RUMOR: Allen Edwards to be Named Head Coach at Wyoming

Multiple sources are reporting that Allen Edwards will replace Larry Shyatt as the next head coach at Wyoming.  Shyatt announced his resignation earlier today.

Edwards, a former standout at Kentucky, has been on the Wyoming staff for the past five seasons.  He has also been an assistant at VCU, Western Kentucky, Towson and Morehead State (KY).

Edwards enjoyed a tremendous playing career at Kentucky (1995-98), where he played three seasons under Rick Pitino and one under Tubby Smith. The Wildcats advanced to three straight Final Fours during Edwards’ sophomore, junior and senior seasons. They won the national championship in both 1996 and 1998. During his freshman season, Kentucky advanced to the Elite Eight.

More on this as it develops.
