HoopDirt.com can confirm that Central Connecticut head coach Howie Dickenman will retire at the conclusion of the season. I have heard that the announcement could come as early as tomorrow. The 69-year old Dickenman signed a four-year contract extension back in 2012 which will expire at the end of this season. In 19 seasons as the head coach at CCSU, Dickenman has won 281 games, but his Blue Devils have struggled this season – they are currently 3-22 (2-12 NEC). Before becoming the head coach at Central Connecticut in 1996, he had spent 14 seasons on Jim Calhoun’s staff at UConn. More on this as I hear it.
