According to a few people close to the situation, Montana head coach Wayne Tinkle is close to signing a contract extension. I have heard that the deal would be for three additional years. The base salary would remain similar, but there will be more incentives that could help raise the monetary value of the deal. Currently Tinkle’s base salary is $122,596. He is 91-64 in his five seasons at Montana, including back-to-back 20 win campaigns. Tinkle flirted with the Fresno State job this past off-season. More on this when it becomes official.
