It sounds like The University of South Dakota will name Nebraska assistant Craig Smith as their new head coach. The announcement is expected today.

Smith is in his second year at Nebraska and has also worked with Huskers head coach Tim Miles at Mayville State, North Dakota State and Colorado State. He also spent three seasons as head men’s basketball coach at Mayville State University, where he compiled a record of 72-29 while advancing to three straight NAIA II national tournaments, including a trip to the NAIA II national championship game in 2007.
