HoopDirt.com can confirm multiple reports that NC State assistant Takayo Siddle will be named as the new head basketball coach at UNC Wilmington.

Siddle was an assistant at UNCW from 2014-17 under then head coach Kevin Keatts (who he then followed to NC State). The Eden, NC native played at Hargrave Military Academy for Keatts before continuing his playing career at Gardner-Webb, where he also spent four seasons as an assistant following his graduation.

Siddle beat out Kentucky assistant (and UNCW alum) Joel Justus, and current UNCW interim head coach Rob Burke for the job.

An official announcement is expected no later than Monday.
