The Ecclesia College athletic department has announced the hiring of Tanner Huck to the position of Head men’s basketball coach. Huck comes to EC from Barclay College in Haviland, Kansas where he most recently served as an assistant basketball coach for the 2017-2018 school year.
Last season, Barclay logged one of its most successful men’s basketball campaign in years, finishing in a three way tie for first place in the conference, and finishing as the runners up in the conference tournament. The Bears also posted the first regional tounament win in program history last season. Prior to last season, Huck got his coaching career started by working basketball camps for Uncharted Waters Sports Ministry in the summers of 2016 and 2017.
As a player, Huck had a decorated career playing for the Barclay Bears, Spending over half of his four years in the starting lineup. He was a career 58% shooter from the field and 75% from the free throw line. As a player, Huck contributed to team success as well, they finished three straight years in the top two in the conference for the regular season, including one outright conference title. The team also appeared in three straight conference tournament championship games.
Huck graduated from Barclay College in 2017 with a B.S. in Sports and Recreation Ministry. He is currently pursuing a M.A. in Sports Outreach.
