Ryan McIntyre, who served as a head student manager for WVU men’s basketball in 2015-16, returns to the Mountaineer basketball program as video coordinator.
McIntyre most recently served as director of basketball operations at Austin Peay for the last two seasons, where he was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the program, coordinating travel schedules, assisting in community service initiatives, overseeing student managers, serving as director of video services and basketball camps.
A native of Fairfax, Virginia, McIntyre is a 2016 graduate of West Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in athletic coaching education. In addition to his one season as head student manager for coach Bob Huggins, McIntyre served as a student manager for two seasons and a student administrative assistant for one season.
Following graduation, McIntyre was a graduate assistant manager at South Carolina for coach Frank Martin, helping the Gamecocks to the program’s first Final Four in 2016-17.
“We are excited to have Ryan back in our program,” Huggins said. “He did a terrific job here when he was a student. His experience with Frank Martin at South Carolina and his time at Austin Peay will make a positive impact on our program.”
In addition to the Bob Huggins Basketball Camps, McIntyre has worked numerous basketball camps. He served on camp staffs for Frank Martin (South Carolina), Matt Figger (Austin Peay), Mark Turgeon (Maryland), Shaka Smart (VCU), John Thompson III (Georgetown), Josh Pastner (Memphis), Fred Hoiberg (Iowa State) and John Groce (Illinois).
