Idaho State Men’s Basketball Staff Update

Idaho State men’s basketball coach Ryan Looney has added Rosbie Mutcherson Jr. and Austin Daines to his staff. The two join the Bengal staff after Chris McMillian left for a position at Central Michigan and Chris Riewald finished his graduate course work.

“We are excited about the addition of Rosbie Mutcherson to our staff,” Looney said. “He is driven and has a variety of great experiences in college basketball. His future is bright and our players are fortunate that they will get to work with him. Our program got better with Rosbie on board.”

Mutcherson comes to Idaho State after spending the last year as the Director of Video Operations at Cleveland State, a team that won the Horizon League and played in the NCAA tournament this past season.

Prior to Cleveland State he was an assistant at Salt Lake Community College where he helped lead the Bruins to a 29-4 record. Mutcherson also spent time as an assistant at Northwest Florida State College. He is a graduate of Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, Georgia, where he played four years for the Scots.

“It is a dream come true to be honest,” Mutcherson said. “I have been thinking about this and working towards this for a long time.”

Daines comes to Idaho State as a graduate assistant after serving as a student-manager at Utah Valley. He is a graduate of Central Valley High School in Spokane Valley, Wash.

“Austin Daines is a great addition to our program. We are grateful he has decided to join us. He brings great experience to his role, serving as a student-manager at Utah Valley. Austin’s involvement in our program will add to the experience our student-athletes are having.”
