Blue Mountain College has removed the Interim tag from Men’s Basketball coach Jermael Bingham.

Bingham, a former standout at the North Mississippi Christian institution and native of Selmer, Tenn., has led the Toppers in the 2017-2018 season, winning his first game on the sidelines in the season opener over Crowley’s Ridge 103-67.

Prior to leading BMC, Bingham was the assistant to former head coach J.D. Parker for five seasons.

“It’s an honor and privilege to be named head men’s coach,” Bingham said.  “My roots are planted here in Blue Mountain, so it’s a blessing for me and my family to be a part of this great Christian institution.  I look forward to not only coaching young men, but helping to mold and guide them in their personal lives off the court.”

Blue Mountain College Interim Director of Athletics Harvey Childers said of Bingham, “I certainly believe Coach Bingham is very deserving and qualified, and I’m happy to see he was chosen to lead the men’s program.”

BMC President Dr. Barbara McMillin commented, “We are thankful for Coach Bingham’s commitment to Blue Mountain College and for the leadership he is providing for our men’s basketball program.  As varsity coach, he will continue to challenge our athletes to strive for Christ-centered excellence on and off the court.”
