Florida SouthWestern Head Coach Eric Murphy has made an addition to the Bucs’ staff for the 2020-2021 season, bringing aboard Dillon Jenkins as an assistant after he spent last season at cross-state rival Eastern Florida.

Jenkins comes to Fort Myers after spending the 2019-2020 campaign with Eastern Florida.  He helped the Titans to a Co-Mid-Florida Conference Championship and coached four players that signed at the NCAA Division I level.

Prior to his time in the Sunshine State, Jenkins coached for two seasons at Southwestern Community College in Iowa where in 2017-2018, he helped the Spartans to a 29-8 record that culminated in a trip to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament where SCC finished third.

Before jumping into the college ranks, Jenkins and his father established the Peoria Quest Charter Academy Basketball program.  In short time, they had the Gators in the IHSA rankings and competing for regional and sectional championships.

Jenkins earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Bradley University.

He joins an FSW program coming off of a 29-2 season which included their third straight undefeated run in Suncoast Conference play and their third straight bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.  Over the past three seasons, the Buccaneers have put together an incredible 89-8 record and end their time in the Suncoast Conference having won their final 40 games before moving to the Southern Conference for 2020-2021.  After sending eight players to the NCAA Division I level this season, the Bucs will have some retooling to do and will be led into the new campaign by returning sophomores Terry Roberts, Mohamed Sylla, and Jaden Campbell who combined to play in 78 games this season as rookies.

Jenkins and the Bucs will open their 2020-2021 campaign at his old stomping grounds in Melbourne on October 30th as they take part in the Eastern Florida Classic to begin the year.
