Canisius College is accepting applications for full-time Assistant Coaches for Men’s Basketball. Canisius is a member of the Division I Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. The Assistant Coaches assist with the overall management of the men’s basketball program under the direction of the Head Coach. The Assistant Coaches ensure the men’s basketball program is administered with constant commitment to compliance with all institutional, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Assistant Coaches report to the Head Coach for Men’s Basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor academic progress of student-athletes. Establish and maintain an environment

  conducive to the welfare and academic success of student-athletes.

• Provide academic and career counseling to student-athletes.
• Recruit qualified student athletes for Canisius College Men’s Basketball Program.
• Assist with student-athlete recruiting logistics, ensuring all recruitment efforts are organized and

  recorded to ensure compliance. Responsible for managing and recording all unofficial and official

  paperwork.

• Organize and execute individual skill instruction for players.
• Develop scouting reports for opponents as assigned.
• Manage marketing and direct the Canisius College men’s basketball camps.
• Coordinate and participate in all events with the Blue and Gold booster club.

  QUALIFICATIONS:
  Recruiting experience at collegiate level, familiarity with recruiting area, excellent communication and organizational skills, demonstrated commitment to compliance and knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Bachelor’s degree required. Division I coaching experience preferred; Division I playing experience preferred.
