Description:

Serve as a member of the athletic department’s leadership team, overseeing men’s basketball operations. Increase program efficiency by streamlining the internal operations of the program. Oversee the program’s external relations by serving as the program’s liaison to various departments on campus including communications, development, marketing, new media, and events/special projects. Assist in relationships with strategic partners, including IMG College. This is a full-time, 12-month position reporting to the Head Coach for Men’s Basketball.

1. Budget and Travel:
Assist the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance & Student-Athlete Services/SW A with budget management and the day-to-day business operations. Work with the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Finance & Student-Athlete Services/SWA to secure charter flight bids and coordinate foreign tours.

2. Program Advancement:
Identify and implement program advancement initiatives including facility branding and renovations to McKeon Pavilion and the men’s basketball wing.
Scheduling:
Responsible for game scheduling for men’s basketball, while at the same time aiming to position the men’s basketball program to earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament on an annual basis. Help increase national exposure by securing high-profile series, neutral site events, and multi-team events when scheduling.

4. Alumni Relations:
This position will develop and maintain relationships with former letter winners. This includes planning special events, including alumni games and team recognition.

5. Branding:
The position will increase brand relevance through the ideation, evolvement, and execution of innovative branding initiatives. Build a strong, recognizable brand in recruiting through cutting-edge recruiting videos, graphics and presentations.

6. External Relations:
Partner with IMG College to secure high profile sponsorship deals and revenue-generating partnerships. Manage the men’s basketball social media channels. Assist campus development in strategic planning to enlist philanthropic support for athletics with a focus on developing major gifts to fund men’s basketball capital initiatives and program advancement projects

Experience and Qualifications

EducationREQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree     PREFERRED: Masters
Experience: (years required and applicable field of experience): Three to five years of relevant experience. Experience with men’s basketball and athletics administration.

Skills/Abilities: (e.g. computer skills, written & verbal skills, trades, laws, procedures, technical) Proficiency with word-processing software and database management. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse community of students, faculty, coaches, administrators, and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple competing tasks and priorities. Team-oriented individual with the ability to take initiative.
