Description:

General Statement of Duties: The assistant coach will assist with the varsity coach in recruiting new players, practice planning, scouting, and all other aspects of the program. The assistant coach will also coach the junior varsity team.

Supervision: Reports to the Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting quality student athletes for varsity as well as JV teams
  • Scheduling and arranging travel for JV team
  • Scouting opponents
  • Monitoring student academic progress
  • Scheduling games for varsity as well as JV
  • Organizing tryout camps
  • Organizing promotional games
  • Teaching
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Must possess knowledge in academic, social and personal needs of students with varied cultural backgrounds.
  • Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree required. Red Cross Certificate desirable. Successful experience in coaching.
