Midland University, a private, Christian, liberal arts university in Fremont, Nebraska (just outside of metro Omaha), is seeking a Men’s Basketball Assistant Coach.  This position will support the Head Coach in providing leadership in coaching, recruiting, video review, equipment management and other duties for effectively developing the team.

Key Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist head coach and coaching team with the administration and leadership of the Men’s basketball program to provide
  • Coaching and instruction during practice and competition
  • Direction in strength and conditioning activities
  • Video analysis of performance
  • Leadership in running competitions, camps and clinics
• Ensure team compliance with all NAIA and institutional, rules and regulations
• Support the development and execution of recruitment and retention strategies of students basketball athletes
• Represent Midland University by continuously role modeling respect, integrity and student-focused decision making

Experience, Education & Training Requirements

Experience Needed:

• Minimum of 2 years basketball competitive experience is required, coaching experience is preferred
• Demonstrated critical thinking, positivity, and problem solving skills along with strong communication skills

Education, Licensure & Certification Needed:

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, focus on education or human performance is preferred
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the University

Skills & Abilities Needed:

• Current and working knowledge of basketball training methods
• A self-starter with positive attitude and strong relationship building skills
• Ability to resolve issues independently
