The assistant men’s basketball coach will be responsible for supporting in the organization and management of the men’s basketball program in conjunction with the overall plan of the head coach. This individual must have strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills in order to teach/ coach, recruit and work with others. Duties are primarily during the sport’s winter season with recruiting and some administrative responsibilities during the off-season as directed by the head coach.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE
Attend all practice sessions, team meetings, and games unless otherwise agreed upon by the Head Coach

Coordinate & assist with the recruitment of student-athletes who show potential to be successful at Rosemont College in the classroom and on the field

Assist with the coordination and administration of all aspects of the program as directed by the head coach
3-5 administrative hours a week

Serve as a positive role model and encourage good sportsmanship

Demonstrate a commitment to the further development of the (sport) program in keeping with the philosophies of Rosemont College, the CSAC, and the NCAA Division III; abide by the policies and procedures thereof

Drive 15 passenger van for team transportation as needed (all competitions with travel less than 90 minutes)

Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree

Significant collegiate-level playing experience (required) and/or 1-2 year’s coaching experience at the college level (preferred) or high-school/club level a plus

Applicants from the Philadelphia region are highly encouraged to apply

Proven college recruiting experience a plus

Encouraged to have current First Aid, CPR and AED certification; If not, will be required to get certified

Successful completion of the Rosemont College van certification testing will be required

Must possess a current driver’s license and a driving record insurable by the College’s insurer
