The major responsibility of the Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach is to instruct and train student-athletes in on-court operations, including physical and mental play development, and to be a motivator and mentor, instilling disciplines and developing technical skills, through quality practice and excellent communication.

The incumbent is to assist the Head Coach with all phases of a Division 1 college men’s basketball program by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the medical and strength and conditioning profiles of student-athletes, being committed to the academic and athletic progress and performance of the individual student-athletes and the team; collaborating with the Head Coach in the identification, evaluation, and recruitment of prospective student-athletes, as well as the development of team strategies and individual player development, and developing and maintaining excellent working relationships with coaching staff and other university personnel.
