The full-time assistant coach is responsible for participating in the supervision and direction of all aspects of the team functions. Their primary duty will be coaching (teaching & instructing athletes in all aspects of the game.) This individual will also assist in the recruitment of student athletes, scout opposing teams, and monitor academic progress of athletes. In addition, the assistant coach must become familiar with, adhere to, and enforce all the policies and procedures of the Athletic Department and Saint Anselm College, as well as the rules and regulations of the NCAA, conference, and any other authorities that affect the intercollegiate athletic program. Specific areas of responsibility will be assigned by the head coach.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will have strong technical skills in basketball, a general understanding of college athletics programs and excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Required Experience

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree plus two to four years of relevant college-level or professional-level playing experience and one or more years of coaching experience, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
