Assists the Head Coach in the organization and supervision for practices and contests. Maintains standards of performance consistent with the departments academic and athletics expectations as reflected in the mission statements, goals and objectives, departmental guidelines and performance appraisal procedures. Assists in implementing a successful recruiting program to attract outstanding student-athletes to attend Texas Southern University. Responsible for keeping abreast of current information on NCAA / SWAC rules and bylaws. Ensures that adherence to NCAA operating compliance rules area addressed and carefully monitored. Attends and participates in department and staff meetings as requested/required. Coordinates and implements with the Head Coach: Eligibility requirements, proper administration of financial aid for enrolled and prospective student-athletes, facilities scheduling and contest administration and game operations as necessary. Communicates regularly and maintains a positive and constructive working relationship with support staff in Sports Information, Student Services, Sports Medicine, Equipment Room, Business Office, etc. to assist in implementation of an efficient and effective program and department. As requested, engages in fund raising initiatives for the program in conjunction with the Head Coach. Maintains an appropriate effective relationship with parents, alumni, friends, and others toward the positive image and promotion of the program. Performs other job related duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
