The Colby College Department of Athletics seeks a part-time assistant men’s basketball coach, beginning September 29, 2014 and ending April 15, 2015. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all duties involved in running a competitive Division III men’s basketball program including but not limited to: recruiting; travel; scouting opponents; video breakdown; helping to plan and implement practices; helping to plan and prepare for games; pre-game set-up; strength and conditioning; phone calls and correspondence with prospective students, high school, and club coaches; researching academic and athletic credentials; meeting one-on-one with students and families visiting campus; organizing and implementing overnight visits; and other duties as assigned by the head coach. The candidate will need to have the ability to drive vans to some contests. A bachelor’s degree is required, previous college playing and/or coaching experience is preferred, and the ability to work as a member of a diverse community is necessary.
